Dr. Tianchen Qin

Tianchen Qin was born in 1998 in China. He obtained his bachelor's degree in Materials Science from Sichuan University (China). He then completed his doctoral degree at the University of Science and Technology of China (China), where he focused on surface physical chemistry.

In March 2026, he joined the group of Prof. David Écija to pursue postdoctoral research. His current research interests include: (i) the on-surface fabrication and characterization of novel carbon-based nanostructures, with a particular focus on tuning their quantum, magnetic, and topologically nontrivial properties; and (ii) the realization and application of novel organic reactions on surfaces.
