Cardozo Yusti

Claudia Cardozo Yusti obtained her Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the Universidad de Carabobo (Venezuela), after doing her undergraduate resesarch work at the Instituto Venezolano de Investigaciones Científicas (IVIC) in the transition metals chemistry laboratory. She obtained a Master degree in Science - Chemistry, from the Universidad de Los Andes (Colombia), working in the field of bioinorganic chemistry, specifically obtaining potentially anticancer copper and zinc complexes to test their biological action in zebrafish and cancer cells.

Currently, she is carrying out a PhD research project at IMDEA Nanociencia under the supervision of Dr. Ana Pizarro, funded by the Spanish Ministry under the FPI programme. Her work focuses on obtaining potent anticancer complexes of Ru(II) and Os(II), which will be activated only in the tumor cell, causing its death.
