Scanning Tunnelling Microscopes (STMs)

In the Molecular Electronics Laboratory we work with scanning tunnelling microscopes (STMs) that we design and build in house. At the moment, we have two of these STMs optimized to work in ambient conditions. In both we can create a thermal gradient between the tip and the substrate and measure the thermopower of organic compounds placed between them.
