Research Lines

The group focuses the interests on solid-state physicsand material science of low dimensional magneticmaterials, covering epitaxial growth, surface/interface andmagnetotransport characterization, as well as nanofabrication.

The main research lines of the group are:

1. Spin-Orbitronics functional interfaces: investigating thegrowth and the structural, surface and magneto-transportproperties of heterostructures in which spin-orbit couplingplays an important role. These include thin films andmultilayer stacks, combining ferromagnetic (FM) Appl.Phys. Lett. 104 , 202407 (2014), antiferromagnetic (AFM) Phys. Rev B, 92, 220422(R) (2015); Phys. Rev. B,86, 024421 (2012); perpendicular magnetic anisotropy(PMA) systems J. Appl. Phys. 109, 07D357 (2011) withantisymmetric Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction (DMI) Appl. Phys. 2. Oxide-Spintronics: engineering artificially the surface/interface of nanostructures based on perovskite oxides(which show a wide variety of properties as half-metallicity,dielectricity, ferroelectricity, multiferroicity), with the aimto tailor their spin-dependent transport characteristicsand merge in a single device the functionalities of theirindividual constituents.
